On children this may include:

  • Your school and class.
  • Your age and gender.
  • Responses to questions or any engagement through our website or app. Any other engagement with Equipping Kids. This may include your written comments, your voice recordings and photographs and videos linked to your learning. You will always be told when you are participating in activities where your response will be recorded in any way.

  • When you visit our website we collect information about your IP address and pages you visit. This does not tell us who you are or your address, unless you choose to provide that information.

  • We will when relevant collect special category data (sometimes called sensitive data) which may include Information about your race, ethnic origin, religion, your physical or mental health, genetic data or biometric data, your sex life or sexual orientation.

On adults this may include:

  • Name and address.
  • Email address and telephone numbers.
  • Any personal information you give to us when you contact us.

  • Research, Development and Knowledge Transfer - as part of Equipping Kids work to lead on promoting the voice of children in learning we will use information to inform others and shape the ongoing development of our research and the resources and training we provide. This will never be done at the expense your rights as set out within this document.
  • Processing – this will include using the information to fulfil any request made by you to receive one of our services, receive an email newsletter or research briefing or to fulfil a contract with you.

  • Marketing – in addition to processing we will use your personal information to provide you with information about services you have requested or would reasonably expect to receive from us. You will be able to change your mind at any time and we will keep your preferences up to date. Any direct marketing email or text will have a link to let you unsubscribe.

  • Legitimate interests – Equipping Kids also processes your data when it is in our legitimate interest to do this and when these interests do not override your rights. These legitimate interests include:

    • Providing you and others with information on services, ongoing research, development, knowledge transfer, competitions and feedback.

    • Providing our services to you and others.

    • Manging our relationships with you and third parties who assist us to provide the service to you.

    • Sharing your personal information with people or organisations in order to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations or to enable us to run our organisation.

    • Monitoring how we are meeting our service levels.

  • Profiling – we may make use of profiling and screening methods to provide a better service to clients, suppliers, supporters and guests.
    Profiling helps us target resources more effectively through gaining an insight into the background of clients, suppliers, supporters and guests and helping us build relationships that are appropriate to their interests.

Your information will only be accessible to our staff and only where it is appropriate in respect of the role they are carrying out. We will never sell your information or let other organisations use it for their own purposes.

  • Where we use other companies to provide services on our behalf for processing, mailing, delivering orders, answering clients, supporters, guests and suppliers questions about services, sending mail and emails, data analysis, assessment and profiling or processing credit/debit card payments.

  • To organisations who you have requested us to supply information so that they can provide services or products you have requested.

  • When using auditors, professional advisors and IT suppliers.

  • Any PR consultants, printers and website developers or other suppliers we need to work with to deliver our services but only were it is necessary to enable them to fulfill the role with us.

  • When putting names and photographs in a newsletter or on a website.

  • When we are legally required to, or because of a lawful request by a
    governmental or law enforcement authority.

  • If we merge with another organisation, sell our business or form a
    new entity.

The security of your personal information is very important to us.
